This website is so out of date - Tuesday Aug 14, 2007 Just looking at it makes me cry. I've started redesigning it about 5 times now, and then I decide its not good enough, so I ditch it. Designing for yourself is hard! Someday, I'm going to get something new up here. Until then, enjoy my work as of 2-4 years ago!

McIntyre Library "Off the Shelf" - Saturday Nov 11, 2006 Heya, this will probably be my last school post, as I hope to change this site up completely soon, and I am now graduated from Eau Claire. As I mentioned in the last post, The McIntyre Library has begun using the logo that Seth, Dave, and myself designed. They have posted the newest edition of Off the Shelf and it has a featured article about us on the second page. It's exciting to see that some of our work is going to good use. Enjoy.

The Professional World - Wednesday Sep 27, 2006 I haven't updated this site for awhile, so it's about time. I've graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. I've got my double major in Graphic Design and Advertising and it only took me five years. I've started in the professional world of design and advertising at Morsekode a Twin Cities advertising agency. I love the people and the atmosphere there. I hope to be able to post some of my new work from there on here soon, but it may take me awhile. In other news, the logo that Seth Koslowski, Dave Bromeland and myself designed for the McIntyre Library back in Eau Claire has been chosen as the official logo. I'm proud of the work we did, and it was a nice culmination of my school career for design. You can see their website which makes use of the logo here although we did not design it.

More Updates: Few & Far Between - Thursday Mar 30, 2006 It's been awhile since I got anything new on this website, and I want to spend the time to redesign it, but unfortunately I don't have that time to spare right now, so its going to have to stay as it is. But I did find some time tonight to update some of the work from the portfolio. I changed up the Logos, Photos, and Websites sections, but I will specifically point out what is new below. In the logos section I added a logo I did for a class project last semester for the McIntyre Library. I also added a recent logo I did for the University's radio station, WUEC 98.7 Blugold Performance of the Air. Those are the new ones, but you may not recognize others that are updated on there. In the photos section I added one of my favorite pictures of mountains. A rowboat I took a picture of two summers ago, and a digitally manipulated picture from my Digital Photo class. In the websites section I added another project from this summer's internship, a Great Harvest website. I also added a recent Flash project that I completed for my Electronic Media course. You can see the poetry in motion. I really, really need to figure out what to do with the graphics section, that will come soon, because I have more things to add there.

Updates, Finally - Wednesday Oct 19, 2005 I have finally gotten around to updating the website... I had to start small because it was a daunting task. There are still big plans in the works, but none that I have time for. So, now that the whole summer has gone by, and I am well into the school year I present to you some new work. Two campus directory covers and a new logo from last semester, an Arts West poster campaign from this semester, a new website from my internship this summer, and three new photos from my current digital photo class. Be sure to check them out if you have time, I'll try to keep you updated between my various school projects, and a few business projects. Thanks!

School is Over, Work Starts Soon - Thursday May 26, 2005 School at Eau Claire is over for the semester, I have some time off before I start my internship at Morse Kode, a graphic design and advertising firm close by in the Twin Cities. I'm really looking forward to that, but for now I'm just realxing and trying to settle in for the summer. I would like to get some of my design work from the semester posted in the portfolio, but unfortunately the majority of it was group projects, so I'm unsure what to post. Now that I have some time this summer I really want to update this website. It's coming... really.

AIGA Conference - Sunday Apr 24, 2005 I'm back from my home-state of Minnesota from the weekend. I was at the AIGA Student Graphic Design Conference. While there I got to tour several different Graphic Studios, some of which had incredible spaces that they work in, much better than my dorm room. On Saturday I met with four different reviewers. Some of them were way too nice, and didn't really give me anything to improve upon, but others gave me some great comments to work with. As I'm going through old work and improving it, look for some more changes in the online portfolio pretty soon as some of the work is badly outdated, and it needs better organization. Unfortunately it may have to wait until after finals. They seem to be keeping me very busy at this point.

Random Updates - Tuesday Apr 5, 2005 I haven't updated in awhile because, truthfully, I've been trying to get people to sign up for that Mini Mac deal... kinda sad. But I think I've got all 10 people signed up now, hopefully it should be shipping out soon. In the meantime, this semester has been flying by. Graphic Design 476 has finished our Campus Directory Covers, which I hope to post soon enough. We also worked on a poster for the Student Art Show, mine was one of the final five chosen, but didn't get voted as the best one. I'm alright with that though. We really need to start going on other projects though for the Chippewa Valley Economic Development Corporation, and the Eau Claire Regional Art Center. The Bitsplash Website is done, have a look. I think it turned out rather well and I'm quite proud though its been changed a little since I gave them the design. Might have a few more business projects coming as well. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

BitSplash Website - Friday Jan 21, 2005 Its been a long three days, but I finally have a template for BitSplash Software. I'm pretty happy with it right now, a few things could use some work, but I think they're going to be happy with it when they see it. See it for yourself right here In this design I started using a few more CSS tricks, I've been learning a ton lately after exploring this site, every one of those designs is accomplished through using different stylesheets with the same HTML. Simply amazing. My newest design is a mish mash of some tables, and some CSS tricks. My goal for the next site I create is to make use of CSS exclusively with no tables.

Guestbook Installed! - Monday Jan 17, 2005 I'm trying to learn more about PHP, and so I've been messing around with other people's scripts. I just heavily modified a guestbook script so that my viewers could leave me messages on my website. If you'd like to leave me a comment, please do so over at the Guestbook. I've also slowly been adding old work, though it's taking a lot of time. I'm thinking of reorganizing the Portfolio into more distinct sections, possibly pulling out the photos into a section of their own. Changing all of the links will be a pain though, I knew I should have figured out the templates feature on Dreamweaver first...

Small Updates - Wednesday Jan 5, 2005 Awhile ago I switched this news portion so that the background was white, but that complicated the link colors, and everything was all messed up. So I finally got around to fixing it tonight. I've made some small changes around the site, probably nothing that you'd notice. Currently I'm in the process of looking for an internship this summer. It's been interesting so far, and I have a few good leads as well. Andy is also keeping my busy working on stuff for BitSplash including a new logo for Exact Mouse, and the new website design. That should be coming soon.

Mere Design Co. Soon to Come - Thursday Nov 18, 2004 My friend Joe and I are in a class called Electronic Media where we need to develop a storefront for an online business. We've decided to make up a company called Mere Design Co. which will be a clothing company, probably mostly T-shirts and sweatshirts. It's going to be sweet. BitSplash Website - Sunday Nov 14, 2004 My friend Andy needed a new template for his business website which is currently found here. He wanted something better, more stylish, and more textured. I've been working on it, and would love some more comments. You can find the first ideas here. Let me know what you think!

My First Issue Website - Sunday Nov 14, 2004 My University is undergoing a huge argument this semester connected to free speech in whether you can get service learning credit for religious activities. My friend Norman is on the front lines of this issue, and wanted a website created. Because it needed to be done very quickly and efficiently, I modified a Dreamweaver template. This Website - Monday Nov 8, 2004 Currently, I'm working on this exact website. I finished it up for class this afternoon and it should be ready for the teacher to grade. Be sure to check out the portfolio section, as it has all of my work, and took me forever and a day to finish.

Machfront Microhosting Rumbles On - Wednesday Nov 3, 2004 The never ending project known as Machfront is continuing, basically the website is done, but just going through minor changes. I'm thinking about adding an expanded features page, and revamping the whole Plesk Skin so that it matches the Machfront website. That may be awhile in coming...

Chippewa Falls Public Library - Wednesday Nov 3, 2004 In my class Graphic Design 491 we're revamping the image of the Chippewa Falls Public Library. They didn't really have a logo really at all, and no real stationery to speak of. I've got the logo all figured out, but I'm working now on stationery, building signage, and possibly a website. I'm excited about this project and I think it'll make a great portfolio piece.
